APTAE

APTAE is the professional organisation of Alexander teachers in Spain ( Asociación de Profesores de Técnica Alexander de España). It was formed in 1998 and is affiliated to similar bodies in 13 other countries.

As stated in its constitution, its principal objectives are:

  • Spread the AT in Spain
  • To protect the standard of teaching of the AT.
  • To ensure ethical standards in the teaching of the AT. A professional code of conduct exists.
  • To assess and oversee the observance of the rules applicable to Training Schools. A training course lasts 3 years with a minum of 1600 hours of attendance. The directors of these schools have a minimum of 7 years of teaching experience and their assistants a minimum of 5 years. They have to be approved by APTAE.
